Meet Judge Karen Brandt

A graduate of SUNY Oneonta and Syracuse University College of Law, I’m proud to have deep roots in our community. My husband, Scott, and I are lifelong residents of Oswego County where I was first elected to the bench in 2011.

Throughout my career as an attorney and judge, I have worked tirelessly to serve our community. As a Town Justice I make sure that your rights and freedoms are protected while ensuring the safety of our community. As a Support Magistrate, I strive to ensure that the parties are treated fairly and with respect despite the difficult financial burdens facing them as parents. No matter the court, no matter the case, I have worked to serve justice and the people of New York.

I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I have received since announcing my candidacy for Supreme Court Justice in the Fifth Judicial District, but I know there is still much more work to be done.  My record shows that I am honest, capable and ethical, the characteristics that you want in your State Supreme Court Justice.  Years ago, I swore an oath to uphold our Constitution, a sacred oath I have I carried with me throughout my career. As your next State Supreme Court Justice, I will be honored retake that oath to faithfully and impartially uphold our laws and Constitution.
